Google Flights – Find Cheap Flights
February 20, 2018 at 6:33 pm #9213
Yesterday I saw a promotion of tickets in business class, with TAM, leaving some cities like Brasilia, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, with destinations in Madrid, Paris and Frankfurt. The tickets were between R $ 4,300 and R $ 5,000, already with the rates and can be divided up to 5 times.
I only saw tickets with those prices in the month of August. If you find another month, please leave your comment. The normal price of business class costs about R $ 10,000.00.
Well, actually, for business class it’s a good price and if it’s on a plane with flat-bed it’s even better. TAM promised that by the first quarter of that year 2015 it would have already changed the configuration of the executive-class cabins of all B777 on the longest routes.
Compare the seats of the old configuration, which does not recline 180 degrees (first photo), with the new flat-bed (second photo).
What about Google flights? Well, aware of how things work here in Brazil, I kept thinking: Will these flights already be in the new configuration even with the promise of TAM? Google Flights will respond.
Note the flight down from Sao Paulo to Madrid on an A330. It’s written “total recline”, then you’ll all happily buy the ticket, thinking you’ll be traveling in a brand new flat-bed chair and come face to face with the old one, just like the first picture. Sad is not it?
But then you can argue that the B777, yes, should already be with the new configuration, even more going to Frankfurt. So let’s ask Google Flights. The first picture below shows the price of the business trip:
Now, by clicking on the first flight above, the information below appears. Look at the B777 aircraft with the information “seat with full recline”, but this armchair is not flat-bed. For it is inclined and has no angle of 180 degrees.
Just to confirm, I called the TAM call center, and they actually confirmed to me that the B777 is not yet in the new configuration.
However, I got the information that the B767 aircraft bound for Madrid, already has the flat-bed seats. Let’s see if Google Flights confirms
Yes, GRU-MAD with the information “seat-bed”! Thanks, Google Flights. Rss …. I think I would fly to Madrid, spend a night or two in the city (which is a great way) and buy a flight from a low-cost airline to Frankfurt. Just to go in the new configuration. And you?
Another way of knowing this is, when you are buying on the TAM website, and to mark your seat, if a 2-3-2 configuration appears it is because it is the old one. The new one is 2-2-2.
Now one more tip:
When you are looking for the calendar, sometimes the lowest price may not appear until you click (click, not just mouse) on a certain date, see the example below, looking for business class flight to Paris, departing on day 5 :
With the choice of outward flight on day 5, prices were coming out for $ 8,834 (remembering that price is already shown with rates) and if you put in the round trip search, it will be the total price. So when I clicked on day 4, look what happened:
The round-trip price, in business class, fell from R $ 8,800 to R $ 5,000. Of course, you can do this too by researching in economy class.
Hope you’ve enjoyed these tips as much as the others, in the first post on Google Flights. Leave your question or comment if you want.
